Eligibility & rules first

Who needs a Kenya eTA—and who is exempt

Before starting an application, verify whether your nationality and itinerary require a Kenya Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) under current Republic of Kenya Directorate of Immigration Services rules (etakenya.go.ke/eligibility).

1. Travelers who must obtain an eTA

Foreign nationals from non-exempt countries—including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, and EU member states—must hold an approved eTA before boarding their flight to Kenya. This applies to adults and children of all ages.

2. eTA-exempt nationalities & categories

Citizens of East African Community (EAC) partner states, plus nationalities listed as exempt on etakenya.go.ke/eligibility for short visits (60–90 days, such as Egypt or South Africa), holders of valid Kenyan residence/work permits, and airside transit passengers who do not pass immigration do not need an eTA.

3. Entry conditions & health insurance

An approved eTA authorizes travel to a Kenyan port of entry; final admission is determined by immigration officers upon arrival. Kenyan authorities also require foreign visitors to hold valid Inbound Travel Health Insurance covering medical emergencies and evacuation (see insurance.ecitizen.go.ke).

How the service works

Four steps, with responsibilities kept clear

We help prepare and transmit your application. Kenyan authorities assess it and decide whether to issue the travel authorization. No assistance service can guarantee that outcome.

Transparent fees & options

Official portal vs. private application assistance

You can always apply directly on the official Republic of Kenya portal (etakenya.go.ke) for the base government fee (approximately US$30 for a standard eTA or US$20 for a Transit eTA, plus small card processing charges; standard government turnaround is ~3 working days).

If you choose our private assistance service, checkout separates the Government & Admin Fee ($65.00 for Transit eTA or $95.00 for Tourist, Business, East Africa, or Medical eTA) from our Service Fee ($69.99 per applicant). Our service is helpful when you want manual document and photo checks, single-session group filing for up to 15 travelers, and email/phone support.
