Kenya eTA Accommodation Proof for Safaris: Lodges, Camps and Multi-Stop Trips

Published

Document guidance checked against official sources on the review date.

For a safari with several stops, prepare accommodation evidence that can be followed alongside your arrival and departure itinerary. Kenya's official eTA guidance lists accommodation confirmation and a travel itinerary. A safari package may contain those details in several documents rather than one hotel reservation.

This is a guide to organizing evidence for an application. It does not set a new government document category or guarantee that a tour letter will replace any file requested by the live form.

Identify what the operator actually confirmed

Ask for a readable confirmation showing the travelers covered, the travel dates and the accommodation arranged. If a marketing itinerary lists alternative camps, ask which bookings are confirmed and which remain provisional. Do not present a proposed itinerary as a completed reservation.

Check whether a night before or after the safari is included. A five-day park itinerary may not cover the first night in Nairobi after an international arrival, or the final night before a late departure.

Use a simple itinerary index

As a preparation aid, make a short list of dates and overnight locations. For example:

DateOvernight locationSupporting document
12 NovemberNairobi hotelHotel confirmation
13–15 NovemberConfirmed safari campOperator confirmation and route
16 NovemberNairobi hotelFinal-night booking
17 NovemberDepartureDeparture itinerary

This is an illustrative example, not a prescribed government template or a genuine customer itinerary. Upload documents in the formats and places requested by your chosen application channel. An optional index helps you review the evidence; it does not replace the original confirmations.

Match the application to the evidence

Compare names with each traveler's passport. If one reservation covers a couple or group, check that it identifies who is covered; ask the provider to clarify genuine omissions rather than editing a booking yourself.

Use the address that accurately answers the field on the current form. If it asks for the first accommodation, that is different from listing every property in one address field. Where a multi-stop trip cannot be represented clearly, ask the official support channel or the assistance provider before submission.

Departure is close and the documents are incomplete

Request the missing confirmation from the provider immediately. Paying for faster handling does not create a reservation or waive an authority request. If an application has already been submitted, follow the instructions associated with that reference before creating another one.

For a new assisted application with the necessary documents, our Urgent handling within 5 business hours costs an additional US$69.99 per traveler. The government decision is separate and may take longer. Check processing and imminent-travel guidance and the full fee breakdown before starting with Urgent handling.
